“Blazing New Trails is a new event to bring families out to learn more about Pathways, MI while spending time together outdoors.” said Jeanette Hoyer, Executive Director of Pathways, MI. “We recently combined the efforts of the two organizations and want to let families know the wealth of resources available to them through Pathways. Both organizations are committed to the health and well-being of families, children and our community,” she said. “At Pathways we are passionate about promoting healthy connections for people; most importantly that connection to self and every relationship that exists in a person’s life, whether that be between parent and child or within other significant close relationships. We serve people individually, through programs in counseling, child welfare, prevention, respite and child care resource and referral.”

The day will begin at 9 a.m. with registration.  The run, walk, hike will kick off at 10 a.m. The cost to participate is $20 for the first person, $10 for each additional family member up to four, and $5 for each family member after that.  Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Participants will enjoy over 120 acres of natural preserve, while run/walk/hiking the trail’s level terrain of boardwalks and flat crushed stone. The route will pass through several ecosystems including meadows, woods, wetlands and ponds and participants will see deer and elk in their natural habitat.
