How long have you worked/lived in Holland:I have worked in Holland for 4 years, I am West Michigan born and raised. I moved to Holland my senior year at South Christian High School, graduated from the GVSU Seidman School of Business with a BBA in Marketing, Lived downtown Grand Rapids until about 3 years ago when I moved back to Holland and invested in a Baker Loft. So somewhere between 3 and 11 years.

Hobbies: I have many interests and hobbies including but not limited to Sailing, Boating, Traveling, Hiking. The more I travel the more I crave it. When I was younger we would take trips to Bar Harbor, Maine, Estes Park Colorado, in High School I played Soccer with Calvin College throughout Netherlands, Luxemburg, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland. In college I began going back to visit Bar Harbor, Maine with friends this time instead of family, then whitewater rafting, weekends in Chicago, Traverse City, snowboarding in Vail, I began to crave going back oversees so I chose a summer study abroad program that took me to London, Scotland as far North as the Loch Ness, then south for a hike along the White Cliffs of Dover, over the English Channel to wander the Beaches of Normandy, Paris, Italy and a second visit to Switzerland to get lost in the Alps. Traveling is a mind broadening experience and the places you have been cannot be taken away from you.

What do I like best about HYP: What I like best about HYP is that HYP creates OPPORTUNITY. Opportunity to be involved in the community, to network with other Young Professional, to build Professional Relationships, to meet and make friends. It was just this last Thanksgiving that I sat around a dinner table with 10 others that I had not known more than a year ago. Each person had their own story, a different background, they were not all born and raised in Holland Michigan and we most likely would not have met if it was not for the Holland Young Professionals and the vision to connect Young Professionals with other Young Professionals.

Jokes: I was driving down the road last week when an Ambulance pulled out in front of me. The ambulance was obviously on its way to the hospital with its lights on and sirens blowing. Just as the ambulance pulled out in front of me it hit a pothole and the back door opened up. A red and white cooler fell out the back and onto the street. I pulled over, the Ambulance kept going… I looked inside and saw a severed toe on ice…because the Ambulance was long gone I went back to my car and called a Toe Truck.
