Participate in the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade

St. Pat LogoThe community of Holland, well known for its Dutch ancestry, goes Irish for the fourth year in a row as organizers commemorate St. Patrick with the annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in Downtown Holland. The event will kick off with a spectacular St. Patrick’s Day parade at 12 pm.

Families and individuals wearing green are invited to participate in the parade and carry Irish flags. A limited number of flags will be available at no charge. All other parade participants must be registered. The number of entries is limited.

The highlight of the parade will be the appearance of the Grand Marshal, Holland’s own Irish Mayor McGeehan, and his family as well as Irish dancers, bagpipers, and kilt-wearers.

This year we are going GREEN X 2 celebrating the Irish holiday as well as Energy Week, March 13 - 20, with WEST (Windmill on Every Steeple Team). Be sure to look for upcoming information about drop-off locations for food donations that will go to Community Action House (CAH).

Guidelines and applications for admission in the 2008 St. Patrick’s Day Parade are available from the Curragh Irish Pub, New Holland Brewing Company, and the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce or online at www.curraghholland.com or www.newhollandbrew.com. Line-up for the parade on Saturday, March 15 begins at 11:15 am at the Eighth Street Market Place on 8th Street and Pine Avenue, near the Civic Center.
