The March for Babies seeking VOLUNTEERS, NEW TEAMS, WALKERS

The March for Babies event will be held on April 19, 2008 at Kollen Park with registration starting at 8:00 am.  A kickoff meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 27th, at the Macatawa Legends Golf & Country Club from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm.

The money raised goes to save premature and sick babies.  Premature birth is the #1 cause of newborn death and the biggest threat to babies’ health today, and through March for Babies, the March of Dimes is funding important research to find out why premature birth happens and what can be done to prevent it.

Why walk?

  • Right now, premature birth touches half a million babies and their families every year.
  • Because babies born too soon are more likely to die, or have lifelong disabilities.
  • Because 120,000 babies are born with serious defects every year.
  • And because every baby deserves someone in their corner.

The March of Dimes is here for all babies—those born healthy and those that need help to survive and thrive.  The solution is simple.  Sign up today and walk with us.  You can also check out more information at www.marchforbabies.org.  You can also contact Brenda Kwaske at 616.247.6861 Ext. 17 (BKwaske@marchofdimes.com) or Andrea Petoskey at 616.393.0101 Ext. 604 (andrea.petoskey@egeminusa.com) for more information.
