BitterSweet – Beer Tasting & Dessert

On Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. the Holland Junior Welfare League is hosting their winter fundraiser, “BitterSweet”. Guests will taste a selection of beers from New Holland Brewing Co. and desserts from Holland’s finest establishments (including Pereddies, Till Midnight, The Piper and Via Maria) while participating in amazing live and chance auctions. The event will be held at the Holland Area Arts Council and tickets are just $25.00 per person. Please visit our website at www.hjwl.org to download an invitation/registration and for further information.

Holland Junior Welfare League is a non-profit charitable 501c organization committed to promoting volunteerism and enriching the lives of the children in the greater Holland area. Local non-profits that support children may apply to receive our funding by completing our application and interview process. The members of our organization carefully consider each request. We consider not only economic need, but also the educational value of each request. HJWL distributes funds only to organizations that guarantee all proceeds will be used to help children in our community. Proceeds from this event will go directly to fund these requests.

Want to volunteer? HJWL is seeking volunteers to work at “BitterSweet” from 7:00 pm to 10:15 pm ish. Volunteers are needed for the following areas: 1) Beverage Servers, 3-4 volunteers needed. Individuals will be serving either beer or other beverages. Those serving beer will receive some education on the various beers being served and may need to answer some questions. 2) Beverage Token Sellers, 3 volunteers needed. These people will sell tokens to those attending the event so they can purchase beverages. If you want have questions or want to sign up, contact Sarah Hondorp at sbkhondorp@yahoo.com.
