Little People Olympics - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
This crazy program offered by the Holland Rec Department is totally out of control and nutty fun. Last year over 150 boys and girls under the age of 8 participated in this event. Kids have fun dashing, long jumping, tennis ball throwing and soccer ball kicking all for the Gold! The event takes place Saturday, June 7 at Matt Urban Complex (main soccer field) with a rain date of June 14.
Volunteers are needed at 8:30am-event end which is usually no later than 11:30am after we pick up etc. I provide breakfast of juice, fruit and bagels to those that get there early enough to enjoy it. Volunteer jobs include manning and recording scores at event stations (there are four of them requiring 4-10 volunteers each to avoid meltdowns of kids and honestly, the parents), registering, setting up and tearing down. Basically everyone does everything…and it’s so fun. Volunteers MUST be reliable and enthusiastic! I can’t run this event if there are too few people present.
