HYP’s popular Summer Sports series will wrap-up on Wednesday, September 17. Join us at Rosa Parks Green (near 19th and college) at 6pm for a pre-game cook-out followed by a rousing game of kick-ball. Last chance to enjoy Summer Sports and have a cook-out in the park…until next summer.

What besides being HYP do you like to do (hobbies)?
I enjoy designing schools, churches, stage and architectural lighting, designing building signage, figuring out problems, seeing the finished result of my hard work, galloping on a horse after a long day’s work, and spending quality time with those whom I love.

What do you like best about HYP, or if you’re a new member, what drew you to HYP?
The sports! I’ll never forget that one day last summer that I showed up for ultimate Frisbee…….I got “pelted” with one, and yet I still kept coming back….

Our President, Mr.. Hill, is a funny guy; he’d like you to tell us a joke. He is always looking to add to his own collection.

Here’s a good one: Two carpenters were working on a house. The one who was nailing down siding would reach into his nail pouch, pull out a nail and either toss it over his shoulder or nail it in. The other, figuring this was worth looking into, asked, “Why are you throwing those nails away?” The first explained, “If I pull a nail out of my pouch and it’s pointed toward me, I throw it away ’cause it’s defective. If it’s pointed toward the house, then I nail it in!” The second carpenter got completely upset and yelled, “You moron! The nails pointed toward you aren’t defective! They’re for the other side of the house!”

Art-O-Mat is a new program that offers a smorgasbord of art projects that will astound you, amaze your friends, thrill your family, and stimulate even your most latent creative juices.  Think of it as summer camp with cocktails!
