Holland Chamber - Annual Meeting
Save the date for the evening of Thursday, October 23, for the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. This year’s festivities will be held at Haworth’s newly renovated corporate headquarters.
Attendees will network, enjoy a gourmet dinner, take in the ambiance of Haworth’s striking new showpiece, and celebrate the Holland Chamber and the Holland area business community.

Volunteers are needed to assist with Holland’s fall tulip planting! Join the community on Saturday, October 11 from 9am-noon at the Window on the Waterfront Park (Sixth and College).
Many hands make light work! No experience necessary. Wear your gardening clothes, and the Parks Department crew will provide the equipment and instructions. Raindate will be 10/18/08 and be sure to check WHTC if the weather is questionable.

The Holland Farmers Market is looking for volunteers to help with the first annual “Fall Family Funday” at the Eight Street Marketplace on Saturday, October 4, 2008. The event will feature a variety of fall-themed activities and games for children, a pumpkin pie eating contest for adults, and an “extreme pumpkin carving” exhibition.
Volunteers are needed to assist with event set up, children’s activities and games, and event clean up. Shifts ranging from 2-4 hours are available throughout the day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Do you feel that kids are being pressured to grow up too fast in today’s “culture of cool”? Then check out “Bringing Up GEEKs: A humor filled, practical way to look at raising Genuine, Enthusiastic, Empowered Kids” at the Grand Haven Community Center on Thursday, October 2 from 7-10:30 pm.
Marybeth Hicks, author of two parenting books, most recently “Bringing Up GEEKs”, syndicated columnist for The Washington Times and mother of four will speak and sign books at this festive evening that will benefit Spread the Music Foundation. Books will be available at the event.
