No commentsLittle People Olympics - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
This crazy program offered by the Holland Rec Department is totally out of control and nutty fun. Last year over 150 boys and girls under the age of 8 participated in this event. Kids have fun dashing, long jumping, tennis ball throwing and soccer ball kicking all for the Gold! The event takes place Saturday, June 7 at Matt Urban Complex (main soccer field) with a rain date of June 14.
Volunteers are needed at 8:30am-event end which is usually no later than 11:30am after we pick up etc. I provide breakfast of juice, fruit and bagels to those that get there early enough to enjoy it. Volunteer jobs include manning and recording scores at event stations (there are four of them requiring 4-10 volunteers each to avoid meltdowns of kids and honestly, the parents), registering, setting up and tearing down. Basically everyone does everything…and it’s so fun. Volunteers MUST be reliable and enthusiastic! I can’t run this event if there are too few people present. So if someone commits, then I really need them to show up. If you are interested in helping out, contact Adrienne Schumacher at 355.1136 or a.schumacher@cityofholland.com.

- We need race day volunteers to mark the course and act as crossing guards, registration specialists, and cheerleaders along the route. The event is Saturday, May 17 begins at 8:30 am, volunteers to report at 8am and serve for about 1.5-2 hours. There is talk of free lunch and T-shirts for volunteers at EC following the event, which in itself makes it worth it. EC food is delish. The race starts and ends at The EC Wellness Trail Stop right in front of the City Greenhouse on State Street. To join in contact Adrienne Schumacher at 355.1136 or a.schumacher@cityofholland.com.

No commentsTulip City Tiny Triathlon - Volunteers Needed!!
Volunteers are needed to help staff the Tulip City Tiny Triathlon at the campus of Smallenburg Park/Bouws Pool and the Stadium on Saturday, June 21 from about 7:45am-11:30am. The city will feed you breakfast and provide a super cool staff shirt. The Tri is open to children ages 5-14 and like most of my volunteers opps will be more fun than work! Help is needed in registration, helping kids transition from pool to bike and bike to run, timing, cheerleading, running the course with kids that need a little extra boost of encouragement, and the awards ceremony in the stadium. Event will go rain or shine, no lightning or severe weather though, with a make up date of the 28th of June. This is a recreational Tri, so we want everyone to finish if they skip, hop, run, crawl or cartwheel to the finish and with your help, they will!
Please mark your calendars now and let Adrienne Schumacher know what you wish to assist with! a.schumacher@cityofholland.com
